Nuss Fitness LLC started in a tiny corner of a 10x10 spare bedroom, armed only with an iPad, a Zoom account, and a passion for providing wellness to anyone, anywhere. I grew that small online business, debt-free, into a small garage studio.
Flash forward seven years, and what began as a fully virtual training model has evolved into a dynamic, client-centered coaching practice.
Nuss Fitness now blends online and in-person training, behavior coaching, and wellness education to help you move better, feel stronger, and create a lifestyle that you're proud of.
I combine over a decade of hands-on experience in the wellness industry with practical expertise and a genuine passion for lifelong learning. I have worked with big box gyms, community centers, parks and recreation, and non-profits like the YMCA.
Hold more than 13 industry-recognized certifications from NASM, ISSA, & ACE, and two formal degrees in the field: an Associate's of Science in Fitness and Nutrition from WellSpring School of Allied Health and a Bachelor’s of Science in Health and Wellness from Purdue University.
ISSA - Certified Running Coach
NASM - Certified Personal Trainer, CEC, PES, CNC, CSNC, YES, SFC, WLS, BCS, VCS, SMI, HGD
I particularly enjoy running, climbing, hiking, and weightlifting as my preferred fitness modalities.
In the fitness world, I have experience in just about every avenue: personal training, nutritional and behavioral coaching, weight loss, group exercise, and virtual coaching, just to name a few.
Health is more than numbers on a scale or data on a chart. True wellness takes into account the whole picture of who you are. To steward that well, you need not only expertise, but empathy and trust equity.
I'm here to provide that high-quality service to you.
Complementing my industry work, I also serve as an exercise science and nutrition lecturer and program manager at WellSpring School of Allied Health, where I direct associate-level programs that shape the future of wellness in the Kansas City area.
Outside of my wellness career, I'm a published author of two books, "Always be Prepared" and "Where Sleepwalkers Go," a writer for two allied health magazines, and the owner of Strong Will Press LLC. I'm a poet who freelances to capture the soul in people's stories, bringing them to life in the written word.
As an avid outdoorsman, you will find me hiking, running, climbing, and heading off-trail to seek adventure and maybe a little bit of danger. It's all for the next story to tell, right?
My work centers on helping people achieve long-term wellness through education, behavior change, and sustainable healthy habits. Over the years, I’ve developed programs for all kinds of clients, my students, other practitioners, and community members that improve confidence, reduce stress, and build healthier habits. I believe in science-driven practice, compassionate coaching, and creating environments where people feel supported enough to grow.
