Patient lead through Wheel Chair maneuvering through gym to improve mobility for functional tasks.
Patient required verbal and tactile cues with tasks to ensure proper technique and count. Patient very lethargic requiring frequent stimulation for arousal.
Patient has difficulty with accuracy of foot placement. Notable patient's tissue mass can at times make maneuver difficult for patient.
Patient was trained in W/C propulsion and maneuvering within patient's environment forward and around corners in order to improve independent and safe mobilty. Patient required maximal verbal, tactile, and visual cueing for appropriate use of push wheels and improved accuracy in propulsion.
In order to increase participation in activities within facility, patient was coached through management and propelling of WC with emphasis on more efficient use of push wheels, safe use of brakes, and maneuvering between/around objects and through doorways. Patient was able to propel WC with maximal visual/tactile/verbal cueing x 200 feet.
