Biography and CV

Nurfadhlina Mohd Sharef is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).  She obtained her PhD from University of Bristol, UK in Intelligent Systems and MSc in Software Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia. Her bachelor's study was on B. IT (System Science and Management).

Dr. Fadhlina’s main research interests are in artificial intelligence and data science, especially in solving text mining and recommendation system problems. Her current research focuses on interactive machine learning and digital twin with applications in precision biodiversity, agriculture, health, and e-learning. Her projects revolve around data science for public and private agencies. 

She is usually assigned to teach courses related to Artificial Intelligence and general computer science skills such as Data Mining, Intelligent Computing, Algorithm Design and Analysis, and Research Methods in Computer Science. Her mantra in teaching is that experiential learning and blended learning are the best methods to learn and teach. She uses multiple teaching modalities to ensure engaging delivery and so that higher-order thinking skills can be obtained.
