TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY BACKGROUND STANDARDS

Driver's license history must not contain:

• Any suspension within the last 6 months prior to submitting your application for employment

• No more than three moving violations within a 6 month period prior to submitting your application for employment

• Fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement arrests or violations

Criminal history must not contain:

• Any felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses as outlined by Texas legislation

• Any pending criminal cases pending verdict where you may be seen as a potential suspect

• Convictions of domestic violence, impersonation of law enforcement, perjury or false statements

Applicants shall be immediately disqualified for the following:

• Membership or association with any hate or terrorist group

• Consumption of marijuana within the last year

• Untruthfulness or fabricating information through application process

• Prior discharges from other law enforcement agencies for policy violations
