Sustainability
As always, we are working to make the National Tribal Forum on Air Quality an event with an eye on sustainability and are implementing ways to reduce waste and give back at the same time.
Lanyards: most lanyards are not recyclable, and end up thrown away or stuffed in a memorabilia drawer. NTFAQ wants to reduce our lanyard use, and needs YOUR help! While we will have a small number of run-of-the-mill-nothing-fancy lanyards on hand for those who need them, we are encouraging our guests to BYOL - Bring Your Own Lanyard. We want to see your favorites! We want to see your most distinctive! AND we'll reward you for your conservation efforts!
Programs: No matter how many or few copies of the program we order, they seem to reproduce on their own and we sadly trudge the leftover boxes to recycling each year. While we can't eliminate all paper use yet, we can work to reduce how much we use.
As a first step NTFAQ will no longer print an on-site program for the conference. Digital schedules will be available on our website, and we will provide a reference copy of the event schedule in several high traffic areas throughout the forum space. Staff will be happy to assist you in locating events as well!
Carbon Calculator & Offset: Linked here is a simple Travel Carbon Footprint Calculator. We encourage you to calculate your individual carbon footprint, and consider donating to a local partner, or a national Tribal partner, National Indian Carbon Coalition.
