About NPHW

What is National Public Health Week?

NPHW at UCLA is a week-long event, from April 4th through April 9th, 2022, that recognizes public health's contributions and highlights critical issues to improving our nation's health.

National Public Health Week is a nationally recognized event that is hosted by the American Public Health Association. You can read more about NPHW here.

This year, NPHW 2022's theme is "Public Health is Where You Are." During each day of National Public Health Week, we focus on a particular public health topic. For NPHW 2022 at UCLA, the daily themes are as follows:

Racism: A Public Health Crisis (Monday)

Public Health Workforce: Essential to our Future (Tuesday)

Community: Collaboration Resilience and Mental Health Wellness (Wednesday)

World Health Day: Health is a Human Right (Thursday)

Accessibility: Closing the Health Equity Gap (Friday)

Climate Change: Taking Action for Equity (Saturday)

Goal

To actively engage the student organizations at Fielding School of Public Health in organizing a variety of events and activities that speak to our student community’s interests. Foster collaborative and community-driven spaces that highlight critical public health and equity issues and ways to advocate for change.

Vision

A week-long series of highly-engaging, educational, and uplifting engagement opportunities that strongly reflect our interests and passions within the field of public health.
