10 LESSONS
10 LESSONS
Work requirements:
1X carved Lino/wood
3X Prints
Step 1. Transfer your photocopied image to your lino/wood, thinking about composition and placement. Use the technique your teacher has shown you with pencil on the back of the photocopy, then use pen to go over the outlines. Or use carbon paper.
Step 2. Add any text or numbers to your lino using pencil, ensure that it is a mirror imaged view so when you print it will read the correct way. Use a mirror to check.
Step 3. Add in your pattern or any other features you would like to add.
Step 4. Shade all the areas you wish to be dark on your print in pen. (these will be the areas that do not get cut out)
Step 5. Using the Lino/wood print tools carve out all the unshaded areas (this will become the white areas in your print) When you are carving think about the direction and depth of our cut. Do you want to create the effect of texture? Do you want the are to be clean negative space?
Step 6. Print your Lino/wood print until you have 3 good copies. One Print will be stuck into your board for marking, one print will go on the wall, and one you can take home and hang on your wall.
