You will select a bird that has significance to you and you will explore a range of media drawing your bird.
Decide on the bird you would like to draw. Choosing a bird that has significance to you and/or your family is important as you will use this bird as a symbol throughout the rest of the year.
Find at least 4 images of your bird (try to find them doing different things) Print off ready for use.

Add any extra information... Habitat, food, behaviours
Draw your bird using pencil.
You can release if you like
Use pencil (2B, 4B or 6B) cloth and eraser to create tone.
Select a tonal image to do a charcoal drawing. Hairspray when you are happy with the charcoal. Add white paint for highlights
Do a light sketch or release of your bird with pencil and use watercolour to add colour to your drawing
You will be given an A5 plexi plate and etching needle to make an etching. It is best to select your most detailed photo that has many lines to draw.
You will print 3 using oil based ink and press.
