Biokinetics Post-Delivery (Postpartum Exercise Therapy) focuses on helping women safely recover and regain physical function after childbirth. The goal is to restore strength, correct posture, manage pain or dysfunction, and promote long-term wellness.
After delivery, women may experience:
Weakened core and pelvic floor muscles
Abdominal separation (diastasis recti)
Postural issues due to breastfeeding and lifting
Joint instability (especially hips and lower back)
Fatigue and hormonal shifts
Possible incontinence or pelvic organ prolapse
Biokinetics plays a vital role in managing and reversing these effects safely through tailored exercise.
Restore core and pelvic floor strength
Correct postural imbalances
Alleviate lower back or pelvic pain
Improve cardiovascular fitness and muscle tone
Assist in gradual return to full physical activity or sport
Natural Birth: Low-impact biokinetics exercises can usually begin 4–6 weeks postpartum, with doctor clearance.
Cesarean Section: A longer recovery (6–8 weeks or more) is often needed before initiating structured movement.
Pelvic floor retraining (especially important after vaginal delivery)
Rehabilitating abdominal muscles (avoid crunches until diastasis recti is resolved)
Back and hip strengthening
Postural correction exercises
Gradual progression of load and intensity
Always begin with medical clearance, especially after complications or C-sections.
Avoid high-impact, high-intensity training too early.
Listen to symptoms—pain, heaviness, or urinary leaks may signal a need to scale back or refer to a specialist.
Work with a qualified biokineticist trained in women’s health.
