A Notary Public is a public servant as well as "officer" of the State of Texas.
Notary Publics are commissioned to faithfully perform the duties of serving as a disinterested third party authenticating the acts of a signing party. Generally, a Notary Public Texas authenticates and verifies the identity of a signing party and verifies that the signature is authentic, under penalty of law.
Hence, one of the primary duties of a Notary Public is to verify a signers identity. This typically means that the signing party must personally appear before the Notary, at the time of signing, and be able to produce a valid form of picture ID. Personal appearances DO NOT INCLUDE appearances by fax, telephone, video conferencing, spouse or friends permission, or employers assertion.
Secondly, the Notary Public must verify the signers identity by physically inspecting a VALID form of picture ID. Although, in some very limited cases, the Notary may identify the signer through personal knowledge, it is the policy of A+ Mobile Notary to ALWAYS require a photo ID.
Finally, a mobile notary public TRAVELS TO THE SIGNER'S preferred location. The signer can choose if the notary arrives to their home, place of work, a public location, or other location. A+ Mobile Notary can also courier document(s) if signers are at different locations.
A+ Mobile Notary also offers printing and scanning services, and can print document(s) needed for notarization to bring to the client's preferred location. After signing has been completed, A+ Mobile Notary can scan the signed documents to send via email. This provides a digital copy in case physical copies are ever misplaced. Original copies of signed documents will remain with the signer unless the client specifies otherwise. Mailing options are also available.
A valid photo ID is generally considered to include an ID card issued by a Federal or State government agency that is currently valid and contains a photograph and signature.
