Gear, hive equipment and types of bees. Apiary placement, bee biology, spring and summer management, hive inspection. Diseases and pests - types and identification, monitoring and treatment, IPM method of dealing with diseases and pests. Honey, nectar, pollen, and pollination - bee nutrition, honey properties. Honey harvesting, packaging and labelling for sale, fall and winter management. Swarm mitigation – how to reduce the chances of your bees swarming.
