Until 1880 the Parson's Green estate covered the hillside of Arthur's Seat from Meadowbank House up to the top of Lilyhill Terrace, and down Queen's Park Avenue to the entrance of Holyrood Park.
There was a 25-room estate house as well as two gate lodges, stables and a summer house.
The original school named after the area was situated on Lilyhill Terrace.
