Gaelic

The 1+2 Approach also applies if your child is at a Gaelic medium school, where s/he will be learning Gaelic through an immersion approach.  That means Gaelic will be the normal language of instruction in every classroom from P1 onward.  An additional language, such as French or Spanish will be introduced no later than P5 in order to give your child the full entitlement to 1+2 languages.

If your child is learning Gaelic in school or you would like to learn some Gaelic together as a family here are some wonderful online resources which contain everything you need for learning Gaelic at home.

Suitable for P1-3 classes, with a variety of songs, games and activities.

As a next step to Gàidhlig nan Òg, this has further activities for older learners.
