GWiP started as a safe space where graduate and postdoc women in the Physics department could discuss their experiences working in a male-dominanted field. Only 21% of Physics PhDs are women, making Physics the most gender-imbalanced STEM field when it comes to awarding doctoral degrees. We have fostered a community where we can talk about the unique challenges we face, while also networking with one another. Our goal is to ensure that every Physics graduate and postdoc women is supported and encourgaged in their PhD journey.
Let us know if you would like to be involved in organizing GWiP events!
