These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of NorthClover (the "App"), developed by Kuldeep Baral ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using NorthClover, you agree to these Terms.
THE SHORT VERSION
NorthClover is a personal journaling and goal-tracking app. Your content belongs to you. We don't run ads, sell your data, or read your journal. The mobile app offers a free 30-day trial of device sync, after which a subscription is required to continue syncing. The desktop app is a one-time purchase. Use the app reasonably and don't try to break it for others.
THE APP
NorthClover lets you write journal entries, track goals, set reminders, and reflect - all stored locally on your device. An optional paid feature lets you sync entries between your own devices (e.g., phone and desktop) over your local network.
WHO CAN USE NORTHCLOVER
You must be able to form a binding contract in your country/region to use NorthClover. If you're using it on behalf of a minor, you're responsible for that use.
YOUR CONTENT
Everything you write in NorthClover - journal entries, goals, reminders, and any images or voice notes you attach - is yours. We claim no ownership over it. Because NorthClover stores your content locally and we don't operate a server, we cannot access, back up, recover, or restore your content on your behalf. You are responsible for keeping your own backups. If you uninstall the app, lose your device, or your device's storage is corrupted without a backup, your content may be permanently lost - we cannot recover it.
SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PURCHASES
Mobile app (Android): NorthClover's device-sync feature is free for the first 30 days after you enable it. After that, continuing to sync requires an active NorthClover Plus subscription, billed at Rs 200/year (or your local equivalent) through Google Play. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date, and can be managed or cancelled anytime in your Google Play account settings. All other features of the app (writing, goals, reminders, reflections) remain free and fully usable without a subscription, on-device, indefinitely.
Desktop app: The desktop version of NorthClover is offered as a one-time purchase through Gumroad, or as a free time-limited trial. Purchasing the desktop app unlocks it permanently on the device(s) you install it on, with no recurring fee.
We may change pricing for future purchases or subscription terms; changes won't apply retroactively to a subscription period or purchase you've already paid for.
ACCEPTABLE USE
Please don't: reverse-engineer or redistribute the app outside official channels (Google Play, Gumroad); use the app in a way that could disable, overburden, or interfere with it for other users; or use the pairing/sync feature to access a device or data that isn't yours without permission.
NO WARRANTY
NorthClover is provided "as is." While we test it carefully, we don't guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of journal content due to device failure, uninstalling, or similar events outside our control.
CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms occasionally, for example to reflect a new feature or pricing change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
