NorthClover ("the App", "we", "us") is developed by Kuldeep Baral. This policy explains what information NorthClover collects, how it's used, and your choices.
THE SHORT VERSION
NorthClover does not operate a cloud server. Your journal entries, notes, goals, and everything else you write stay stored locally on your own device. We do not collect, see, or have access to your journal content, ever.
WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Short answer: nothing. NorthClover has no server for your content to go to, so there is nothing for us to collect, see, or store. The details below are just for completeness, covering the few things that touch a third party (Google Play, for purchases) or that live only on your own device.
Content you create: journal entries, notes, reminders, goals, and any photos, voice recordings, or files you attach are stored only on your device (and, if you choose to use Sync, on your own paired desktop computer, never on a server we operate).
Account information: NorthClover does not require creating an account. There is no sign-up, no email collection, and no login.
Purchase information: If you subscribe to NorthClover Plus (to enable syncing between devices) or purchase the desktop version, payment is processed entirely by Google Play (for the Android subscription) or by our payment processor for the desktop app (Gumroad). We do not receive or store your payment card details. We may receive limited transaction information (such as purchase confirmation and subscription status) from Google Play and/or RevenueCat, a subscription-management service we use to verify purchases, in order to unlock the features you paid for.
Device permissions: NorthClover may request access to your device's camera (to scan a QR code for pairing with the desktop app), microphone (to record voice notes, mobile only), photo library (to attach images to your notes), and notifications (to show reminders you've set). These permissions are used only for the specific feature you're using them for, and only with your consent through your device's own permission system. We do not access these outside of the features described.
WHAT WE DON'T DO
We don't run ads. We don't use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. We don't sell or share your data with anyone. We don't read your journal content, we can't; it's not on any server we control.
OPTIONAL SYNC BETWEEN YOUR DEVICES
NorthClover's desktop and mobile apps can optionally sync with each other, directly, over your own local Wi-Fi network. This connection is between your own devices only and does not route through any server operated by us or any third party. Sync must be explicitly enabled and paired by you (via a QR code or manual pairing code) before any data moves between your devices.
DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Because your content lives on your own device, you are always in control of it. You can delete individual entries at any time within the app. The mobile app's Settings also includes a Storage section where you can view and delete attached photos, voice notes, and files, or erase all app data entirely.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
NorthClover is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
