Letters From the Editors
Hello fellow readers,
Thank you to everyone who contributed to NORTH this year — either by attending our events, drawing art for Feature Friday, or submitting to our 2024/25 journal. Thank you so much; you make NORTH possible!
This NORTH year has been one full of creativity and new and old traditions alike! We started our fall semester with one of our favourite newer traditions, pottery night, which was a creative success. It’s always great seeing Hums students in their artistic element! We also decided to move away from print sweaters this year and offered our first-ever embroidered sweaters. Thank you so much to everyone who bought a sweater and supported NORTH, and for your patience throughout the process! In the winter semester, we brought back a classic NORTH tradition for its second year since the pandemic — Soup Day. Thanks everyone for helping us save the planet and support NORTH one bowl of soup at a time!
Reflecting on our past four years at the College, NORTH has remained a staple through it all. From reciting poems for Valentine's Day Poetry Night to scooping hot soup to doodling on the editor's Mike’s napkin, or holing up in the lounge for a day to make the journal — NORTH has been a core part of our humanities experience. Thank you to everyone who has made NORTH a fun and unforgettable experience throughout our undergrad!
And, to our fellow editors: thank you for all your help and support with NORTH this year! We appreciate all the care and commitment you guys bring to the journal:) So incredibly excited to see where you take the journal next (return of the print journal?) and can’t wait to see NORTH thrive next year!
Thank you to all the contributors for their amazing work and please enjoy the 2024/25 journal!
Bianca and Isabelle
