How to Read Your Label
How to Read Your Label
Refer to the label on your prescription bottle/bag.
Your prescription label contains all the important details about your medication.
(1) First, check the number of units to draw up per syringe. This tells you exactly how much medication to measure for each injection. Note: the amount that you inject will change when the dosage changes.
(2) Find your dose strength in milligrams. This indicates the amount of active ingredient in your dose – you will need to know this information to refill to ensure that we send you the correct dose as your dosage increases or decreases.
(3) Check the number of refills remaining on the dose you received. If you have refills and are getting your prescription mailed to you, please contact us when you’re on your third dose to ensure we can process your prescription in time. Dose changes should be discussed with your provider. They will need to send a new prescription or have an order on file as we cannot change your dose without a new prescription.
(4) Lastly, pay attention to the beyond use date. We do not recommend that the vial be used for more than 28 days after you puncture the vial for your first dose or past the use by date on your bottle, whichever comes first.
Understanding your prescription label helps ensure you take the correct dose and know how to order your next refill!
