Katelyn started dancing at the age of 4 at Starsteps in Oklahoma for a year before moving to Colorado. Her love for dance took off as she spent the next 15 years dancing at Dance Dimensions in Longmont, studying 4 types of ballet; RAD (Royal Academy of Dance), Cecchetti, contemporary ballet, and pointe, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, modern, lyrical, musical theater, and pom. Katelyn started to take dance seriously as she joined her studio’s competition team, Starbound, in 6th grade continuing that journey until she graduated. She won numerous awards from local and national competitions, such as In10sity, Spotlight, KAR, Monsters of Hip Hop, Hall of Fame, Jump, NUVO, etc., along with receiving several scholarships at traveling conventions. Katelyn was also on her high school’s dance/pom team, where they placed among the top ten at state competition for CHSAA. Katelyn has been teaching here at NCDF for 5 years now and is excited for the upcoming year. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2018 with her degree in Art and Design and Art Education K-12 with a concentration in ceramics and a minor in Dance Education. Currently she is the Art Teacher at Butler Elementary School in Ft. Lupton for all the students at the school. Along with teaching she also owns her own small business called Creative K Company specializing in Ceramic Art and Photography. She absolutely loves everything she does and really does LOVE spending time with her Fusion Family and her own husband and dog! Katelyn’s classes are always focused on learning new things and feeling confident in yourself while dancing your heart out!
