Recommended Hotels
Sakura Kan, AIST's on-site guest house
Limited availability. This guest house is cozy, comfortable, reasonable, and convenient (i.e., on campus) but a bit far from the city center. Ask your host to have your reservation. Free "wired" internet (you can borrow a ethernet wire at the front), rental bike, microwave, laundry, and vending machines are available.
Pedestrian/bike Path:
From Tsukuba Center, where TX Tsukuba Station, hotels, and Tonarie/Creo Shopping mall are located, through the pedestrian/bike path (orange line on the map below), you will reach the west side of the Doho Park. On your left, you will find a gate to AIST campus, which requires a key code to open (ask your host for the key code). Now, you are in AIST, it might take about 40 min on foot/10 min by bike. If you do not have the key code, you may go to the north gate (not shown) or main gate of AIST, which may require extra 20 min.
To reach me, go on the orange path to the building 3-1.
On the map below, not only the path, you can also find my recommended restaurants and shops around the area.
