The career that I have decided to pursue is either mechanical or civil engineering. I chose this career at an early stage of my life when my father and I would make things like small toy cars made out of wood and even putting pieces of furniture together when I became older. I always found the process of making something as simple as a bedframe to the complexities of how airplanes fly to be very intriguing. From drawing it out on a piece of paper to cutting the wood and screwing them together. From then on I had told myself I wanted to learn how to build objects and learn how they work.
To aid myself in achieving my career choice I have taken specific classes. For example, I am currently enrolled in an honors chemistry class, an honors pre-calculus class, and a two-year engineering program. While the previous year I had taken an honors physics class. I am following a science and math based program of studies trying to take more rigorous courses to advance my knowledge in those subjects. Thus far I have learned base physics, time management, communication, proper research, Arduino, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc. This knowledge can help me get a head start on achieving my goal of becoming an engineer.
I have participated in boy scouts and several sports like soccer. They have taught me leadership skills, communication, teamwork, and the importance of having a goal and giving one hundred percent to working to reach that goal. I have participated in the Pinewood derby during my time in the boy scouts. That can help me with my future career choice as it teaches creativity , woodworking, and teamwork. I have not been employed thus far, but have been scouring my local area for employment.
Upon graduation from I high school I plan to attend a two year community college. Then I plan to transfer to a four-year college. While at a four-year college I plan to earn a masters degree in civil or mechanical engineering. I have started to gain interest in some financial degrees but as of now I still lean towards getting some kind of engineering degree. After completing my education I plan to enter the workforce as a civil or mechanical engineer. However, if I am fortunate enough to receive an offer from a college to play college soccer then I will continue not just my education but also my soccer career.
After achieving my career goal, I plan to aid in building new schools and physical activity centers with things like basketball courts and a weightlifting room. To affect society I plan to volunteer my time at animal shelters. When I attain my dream I will impact the world with positivity by spreading kindness and inspiring others to follow their dream.
