Growing up, I've always been around friends who struggled with mental health. A close friend of mine lost his sister to cancer at 14 years old. Afterwards he really struggled with mental health, and I experienced that first hand as I was one of his best friends. Seeing his mental health deteriorate was really hard to watch. On top of that, one of my other close friends tried hanging himself during lunch - that was extremely unexpected and really sad. Currently I'm living with a roomate who struggled with mental health issues. He has ADHD paired with bipolar disorder, living with him is difficult on different aspects than it is with someone who doesn't struggle with mental health issues. These experiences I've experienced in my lifetime, really influenced me.
