Staff Recommendations:
FEMA research indicates that the single shotgun at 3962 Laurel was constructed circa 1910-1920. The applicant is requesting to demolish and encapsulate approximately 57% of the roof structure to build a camelback addition. While Uptown is not a full control district, the addition does meet the criteria set forth by HDLC Design Guidelines of camelback additions starting at two bays back from the front of the building. For the aforementioned reason, Staff recommends recommends approval of the demolition of more than 50% of the roof structure.
Recommendation: No objection.
