Staff Recommendations:
According to FEMA survey research 3507 Danneel was constructed between 1895-1905. The building retains it massing and roof form. However the building has sat vacant since 2007. The deferred maintenance and heavy vegetation through the years has severely damaged the roof structure. The applicant is requesting to reframe the entire roof structure to match the existing pitch and massing. While Staff typically recommends that original structure should be maintained, it is not possible in this case due to the structural damage. Staff recommends approval of the demolition, with the proviso that the new roof structure should match the existing.
