Description: Application to apply a smooth 54" plaster wainscot to the front and left side of a Contributing rated, three-story, residential building.

Previous ARC Recommendations:

10/17/23: The ARC voted to defer this application for additional review.  The ARC agreed that:

•           Adding stucco may exacerbate the deterioration.

•           A mason should be consulted to confirm the makeup/formula of the existing mortar.

Mason's Proposal:

"Wainscotting (stucco) installed on front and left side. Per HDLC Request, the following is the process to avoid moisture wicking behind stucco: A mortar joint is cut in to brick at grade.  Copper flashing is inserted in to the joint. Stucco is installed over the flashing which eliminates wicking. The flashing is not visible."
