Game overview and rules:
This game's genre is shoot ‘em up (Generally known as "STG" in Japan).
No bullet-hell.
No bomb.
No combo & buzz.
No gems, medals and any other bonus items.
Destroy enemies as much as possible and avoid bullets that the enemy shoots as much as possible.
Your goal is to proceed to the higher stage, the higher round as much as possible and get a higher score.
The game consists of stages and rounds, with seven stages per round. When stage 7 is over, stage 1 of the next round will start. The upper limit of the specification round is 99 rounds, and when you end stage 7 with round 99, the game ends. However, if you have finished the stage 7 in round 1, you can think that you won the game. Please think that after round 2 as “bonus game”.
Although the rise in difficulty is determined by the round and the stage, since the upper limit is set for each level of difficulty NORMAL / HARD / INSANE, the difficulty level does not rise any further when it reaches a certain value.
If your fighter collided with enemy bullets, your lives will decrease, but if your fighter collided with enemies body you will not decrease.
Some enemies are forming a formation, and if they are annihilated, bonus points will be added to your score.
At the beginning of the game, when 3 fighters(1 player + 2 stocks) hit an enemy bullet, the number of remaining fighters is reduced by 1. When it becomes 0, the game ends. The remaining fighters increase by 1 as a bonus each time a certain score is taken.
When the game is over, the countdown for continuing starts. If you have credit, you can continue, but please be careful because you can not register to the leader board if continuing even once even after starting the game. If the countdown reaches 0, it will switch to the screen to register in ranking after a while and register your name and score.
Local leader boards are registered up to the top 20 by difficulty level (if equal ties have the same rank, more than 20 people may be displayed). You can always check the leader board from the title screen. Please refer to the online leaderboard from the Steam client.
Game operations & systems:
*The operation keys described below can be changed on the key setting screen except for some.
Fighter’s Operation: Use cursor in the keyboard or the D-pad / left analog stick on the game pad to move your fighter. Your fighter can move in 8 directions. The speed of movement depends on the speed setting.
Fighter’s type: You can choose your fighter from Type I and Type II at starting the game. It can not be changed after starting the game. Type II has higher mobility than type I, but difficult to control. There is no difference in weapons.
How to attack: Use your assigned keys and buttons to use Weapon 1 and 2 as your own attacks. Simultaneous firing is possible, but shots with half attack capability are fired and normal shots (full power shots) are fired if only one weapon is used. However, in exceptional cases, if weapons 1 and 2 are deployed the same weapons can be used if they fire at the same time there is a hyper shot. The hyper shot is somewhat more powerful than the normal shot, and there is no limit on the number of times of use and time.
Weapon 1 can not be changed except at the beginning of the game.
Weapon 2 can change the equipment not only at the beginning of the game but also by taking items during the game.
Weapon 2 can have a shield or empty state unlike weapon 1. Using Weapon 1 in that state, you can fire a normal shot at any time. The shield has 3 durability in the initial state and the state just after taking the shield item. Every time you hit, the durability decreases by 1, and when it gets 0, it becomes empty without equipment. Furthermore, the durability of the shield can not be increased beyond the upper limit 3.
Items are carried and dropped by friendly aircraft at regular intervals during the game. Weapon 2 can take these items and change it. Items switch weapon types of itself at regular intervals, but time can be shortened by shotting items. You can use this to adjust the time it takes to switch to a weapon. However, if you try to take items during an attack, be aware that there is a possibility of turning into the next weapon when you taking a weapon.
Fighter’s speed: It is possible to switch arbitrarily by pushing the SPEED button in 5 stages of moving speed of your fighter.
Credits: Credits can be increased by pressing the CREDIT button.
Option setting: In this game there are option settings that can be changed before the game begins and in-game options that you can change settings only during the game.
Some of the option settings can also be changed on the pause screen. Also, you can change the assignment of keys as well as from the option screen, from the pause screen.
When you press the PAUSE key in the game, the setting group displayed in gray letters on the bottom half of the screen is the in-game option. These can be changed with the assigned function key (this key can not be changed by the user). The content is mainly focused on detailed settings such as display, sound, and direction on the game screen (less important settings).
About files related the game: The ini file and the score data file are stored in “%LOCALAPPDATA%\rysen\“. In this game you can stream your own ogg file arbitrarily in the game, the store location for those bgm files is ”%LOCALAPPDATA%\rysen\bgm\”. You can change the setting of BGM with PLAYLIST EDITOR under EXTRA OPTIONS.
Types of weapons:
There are 5 types of weapons and 1 type of shield. Weapon 1 can be equipped with all weapons except the shield. Weapon 2 can choose the same weapon as weapon 1, as well as shield and empty state (there is no special advantage in empty state).
The shield has a durability of 3, and it decreases by 1 each time it hits. When it becomes 0, it becomes empty state. Also, if you take another weapon with the shield in it, the shield will be lifted. Even if you take the shield continuously, it will not be 3 or more. If you getting the shield item when less than 3, the durability will recover to 3.
