Overview: The Dataset and Challenge

Gilead Sciences sponsors this year’s WiDS Datathon, providing a rich, real-world dataset. The dataset includes information on demographics, diagnosis and treatment options, and insurance coverage for patients diagnosed with breast cancer. Sourced from Health Verity, one of the largest healthcare data ecosystems in the US, the dataset is enriched with third-party geo-demographic data to explore socio-economic factors contributing to health equity. Additionally, zip code level climate data has been integrated into the dataset for this challenge.

Challenge Task

The challenge is to predict the duration of time it takes for patients to receive a diagnosis of metastatic cancer.
