I have a passion for bringing people together for a common goal. I truly believe that every voice is important and should be valued and I practice this every day as team leader, and through Instructional Effectiveness Team Meetings. I believe that everyone has something to offer, and that people are inherently good and want to work toward a common goal for the benefit of the cause. I believe in affirming people and leading groups through respectful discourse. I naturally support collaborative groups with my positive attitude, detail-oriented approach, and strong organizational skills.

As a member of the Social Studies Curriculum Writing team, I was honored to take part in the creation of a transdisciplinary unit of study about Indigenous People of Connecticut. Through this collaboration with a fellow classroom teacher and a literacy coach, we developed 20 individual lessons that integrated 21st Century Skills as well as multiple content areas to create a rich learning experience for our students.

We collaborated with the Library Media Staff to create a culminating transdisciplinary project that further developed students' research and content creation skills through use of the makerspace.
