Sustainability Storylines

Illinois Earth Science Teachers are creating a collection of NGSS-ESS Storylines for K-12 classrooms. The Teacher-Authors participated in a Summer 2021 virtual workshop hosted by the Visualization & Geoscience Education Lab at Northern Illinois. Teachers interacted with the Critical Interface Network (CINet) scientists and engineers and education & outreach personnel at the National Great Rivers Research and Education Center. Over the course of the following school year, teachers participated in monthly webinars, learning about geoscience happening in Illinois, and working in their teams to create storylines for their students.

Click on the tiles below to learn more about these teacher-created storylines. These storylines are not "done" yet. They are currently being tested in classrooms and revised.
