Current funding allows for one teaching assistant (TA)-funded graduate student to work in the VGER lab. Topics for research projects include:
Sense of belonging in STEM
Effective teaching practices in geoscience courses
Spatial thinking in the geosciences
Effective training for Teaching Assistants (TAs)
Preferred qualifications:
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication
Strong science content knowledge, particularly with respect to physical sciences
The ideal candidate would pursue an M.S. or Ph.D. in the Department of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment and take classes in other departments on education and psychology research methods.
