I assist companies in New Zealand and Asia to identify local partners to access their respective target markets. I work with GMA to source for local Kiwi partners for its clients. At the same time, I approach local Kiwi companies that exhibit international expansion potential to offer my go-to-market consulting services, should they plan to target Asia markets in future.
Markets I have access: Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, major cities in China, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, the UK, the Netherlands.

Networking. I actively reach out to people and organisations to present my value proposition.
Research skills and analytical thinking. These are skills I employ extensively as I must quickly familiarise myself with the various industries that my clients are in.
Critical thinking. I identify potential partners for clients based on certain criteria, I formulate 'next steps' for clients, and I formulate the positioning they should take when approaching potential partners.
Presentation skills.
Cultural awareness. I seek to establish mutual understanding by bringing to the conscious mind cultural differences that may exist in the professional and business spheres between countries. This is especially important when bringing together people from Asia and Oceania.
Achievements in this Role:
I have established professional connections in Dunedin and elsewhere in New Zealand.
I convinced a Korean educational robotics company to consider establishing partnerships in New Zealand and Australia (through New Zealand).

GMA is a go-to-market consulting company based in Malaysia. I assisted companies to expand beyond their domestic markets. As a partnerships manager, I developed and managed relationships between clients and potential business partners to establish contractual relationships for delivering products/services in their target markets.
Responsibilities:
Developed and maintained the company’s sizeable international networks.
Systemised market research and outreach methods.
Liaised with companies from Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia.
Key Skills and Personal Attributes:
Partnership and relationship development.
Communication skills and cultural awareness. I overcame language barriers and cultural differences by seeking mutual understanding. I also developed cultural awareness and sensitivities.
Problem-solving. I am able to get to the heart of a problem and explore possible solution pathways.
Negotiation skills. I assisted business partners to negotiate prices for the Malaysian market, including prices for after-sales support.
Achievements in this Role:
Assisted in organising and hosting a successful B2B matching event, Malaysia-Korea ICT Partnership Program, in 2017.
Carried out market research for an international client. I researched and analysed the Malaysian ICT industry, quickly familiarised myself with a new market, and reported on findings.

As a secondary job, I started an entrepreneurial venture called EnCom (short for English for Communication). I taught primary and secondary school students English for Communication and prepared pre-university students for their Cambridge O’Levels First Language English exam, based on a unique teaching method developed in-house.
Responsibilities:
Lesson planning, delivery, and review.
Ensuring students gained from the lessons and that no one got left behind.
Helped students explore future education and career pathways.
Key Skills and personal attributes:
Communication skills, especially in delivering lessons in ways my students would appreciate.
Adaptability in adjusting to different learning styles.
Relationship development and management, and creating rapport with the students and parents.
Case management. I wrote a performance report for each student and regularly discussed with parents their child’s progress.
People skills in resolving problems and conflicts among students in the class.
Innovation. Expanded by creating new programmes to expand into new markets and achieve growth.

My class of pre-university students obtained High Distinction for their Cambridge O’Levels exam.
Successfully recruited 30 students in a year via social networks and word-of-mouth marketing.

Chatime is an international bubble tea brand with 1,300 stores worldwide. I am the point of interaction between the customer and the brand. I ensure the delivery of a positive experience and quality products each time I serve customers.
Responsibilities:
Creating a positive experience for customers.
Running of the shop, including preparing menu items, stop cleanliness, cash counting.

Organisation and planning skills. I prioritise urgent tasks and anticipate subsequent tasks.
Problem resolution skills. I help solve unexpected problems that can arise in the café, including customer complaints.

Communication skills. I effectively communicate with colleagues to organise ourselves in order to deliver quality products with speed and accuracy.

I successfully increased my work hours by showing initiative and improving my performance.
