Math 2153 - Calculus 3

Semester: Spring 2024

Course Description: Math 2153 is a survey of topics in multivariable differential and integral calculus. This course covers vectors and vector-valued functions, functions of several variables, multiple integration (cartesian, polar, cylindrical and spherical), and vector calculus (Green's, Stokes' and Divergence Theorems)

Instructional Style: Worksheet for each recitation, primarily student driven

Math 1126 - Mathematics for Elementary Teachers II

Semester: Fall 2022

Course Description: Math 1126 is the second in a two-course sequence of math courses for undergraduates intending to be elementary or special education teachers. This course covers pre-algebra, geometry, counting techniques and probability as needed for future elementary and special education teachers.

The course will emphasize problem-solving processes and their application to the learning of the listed content areas. Knowing the mathematics for oneself is not the same as knowing the math for teaching. To that end, explanations of mathematical ideas are emphasized.

Instructional Style: New material each recitation, group-work driven instruction, active learning
