My name is Nick Geis. I am a Visiting Assistant Professor at Ohio Wesleyan University for the 2024-2025 academic year. Before coming to OWU, I completed my Ph.D. at The Ohio State University under the supervision of Ghaith Hiary. Before attending OSU, I completed a B.S. in Mathematics at the College of Creative Studies at University of California, Santa Barbara.
My research area is in the intersection of analytic number theory and probability theory. I study probabilistic objects called random multiplicative functions. These serve as a probabilistic model for common multiplicative functions that arise in number theory. I am currently interested in counting sign changes of partial sums of random multiplicative functions. Click here for a version of my thesis.
