Minnesota election law requires that any candidate not endorsed by a major party receive 500 petition signatures during a set time to have their name listed on the ballot. An independent candidate in a special election would need to accomplish this within a specified 4 day window. For a non-career politician, this is nearly impossible. As a result, we are asking that you Write- In Nicholas Schmitz when you vote on February 12th or click here to receive a mail-in ballot.
This campaign believes that participating in government should be accessible to everyone. Hence, the idea of a new election process, one that is inclusive of all. We believe that what citizens do already matters and that over time what you will do will continue to matter.
You can help! Continue to do things that Matter More. Instead of donating money to a campaign committee, Pay It Forward. You already are connected to people around you, even if you don’t live in 23B you might know someone else who does. See our Pay It Forward page for ideas or come up with some of your own, securing one or two write-in votes will make a decisive difference.
Continue to matter more, vote during this special election and Write-In Nicholas Schmitz.
