STEAM Club

STEAM

I have had the opportunity to teach STEAM club through the 21st century program at Parkview. On Wednesdays I have 5th - 7th STEAM club and Thursdays I have 2nd - 4th STEAM club.

Students are presented with engineering challenges, coding opportunities, arts projects, riddles, or math problems depending on the week. The middle school club is 15 students, the elementary age club is 22 students.

Students worked in teams to create volcanoes out of model magic, mixing primary colors to get the greens, dark reds, orange, and browns.

Murals

I have also had the opportunity to host Parent-Student painting classes one night a month through 21st century, and opportunities to create murals with students on campus outside of regular school hours.

Students taped up the stencil and painted this mural with the help of PTA and staff as part of Rachel's Challenge.

We have also created banners, bulletin boards, and artworks based on promoting kindness at school, at home, and out in the world.

I have also painted school mascots onto basketball courts with the help of student basketball teams, US map murals under ramadas with history classes, and world languages murals in the ELL instruction room.
