Sunday worship will take place both in the church and synchronously on Zoom!
Pennsylvania Newtown Christian Church (PNCC) was established in January 2021. Its history can be traced back to more than twenty years ago, when Princeton Christian Church (PCC), Princeton, NJ started a fellowship group across the Delaware River from Lawrenceville, NJ to Yardley, PA. It started with only three families and a single person, with only two or three people regularly attending the monthly prayer meetings. Because of God's amazing work, the fellowship group continued to grow over the years. In addition to new born Christians with the fellowship, God mobilized a number of Christian families from other places to the area of Bucks County, PA.
Throughout the years, the growth of Christian family led to the multiplication of fellowship groups. In 2003, one fellowship group split into two - Yardley/Newtown Fellowship Group and Buckingham/Newtown Fellowship Group; in 2007, into three groups: Yardley, Newtown and Buckingham. In 2015, Newtown fellowship further split into Newtown South and Newtown North. In 2018, in order to further outreach to the local community, Xinya Fellowship Group started their regular Friday Bible study meetings sharing the same facility and during the operation time with Newtown Xinya Chinese School.
Realizing steady Chinese population increase and lack of mandarin speaking Christian church in the vicinity of Newtown, Bucks County, PA, in 2015, PCC decided to start a separate congregational worship service in Newtown on Sundays, which is named PCC Newtown Branch. PCC pastors and elders ministered the Newtown congregation for more than five years before PNCC was formally registered in 2021. Minister Hansheng Liou, sent by PCC as a missionary, served diligently at Newtown. In June 2021, he was ordained as pastor and at the same time was accepted by PNCC as their full time pastor.
As of today, there are five Chinese-language adult fellowship groups and one English-speaking youth fellowship at PNCC. The church rents Newtown Reformed Church facility to hold Sunday worship service and Sunday School from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm, followed with a supper together every Sunday. Each fellowship group has bible studies Friday evenings. The Weekday fellowship bible study is held every Thursday morning. The church prayer meetings take place every Thursday evening. Most recently, PNCC started the church-wide disciple trainings, aiming for future growth and further multiplication.
