Aspirations in Medicine (AIM) seeks to simplify the steps to securing an internship in the STEM field for students at Newton South, connecting our members with selective labs as well as volunteer opportunities to serve the city around us.

AIM is currently developing an outreach initiative to inspire passion for STEM with the greater community outside of the high school, mainly in elementary schools in Greater Boston.

Older members share their experiences navigating the world of high school STEM as well as the college application process for both undergraduate and accelerated BS/MD programs.

In addition, AIM organizes guest speakers to disseminate their knowledge and inspire high school students to do similar work. In the past, we have had the honor of hosting speakers from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, and Boston University.

If you have any interest in a career in STEM, AIM is perfect for you, giving students opportunities to experiment with multiple career paths - and hopefully, empowering them to pursue their interests in science.

Aspirations in Medicine is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion and welcomes all students interested in medicine and health sciences. AIM hosts guest speakers in STEM, connects students with internships and volunteer opportunities, and provides mentoring and student outreach programs to traditionally underrepresented BIPOC and females in medicine and health sciences.
