Prophecy Updates
March 1, 2025
Introduction
The timeless wisdom of Proverbs 16:18 in the King James Version (KJV) states, "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." This biblical proverb warns of the dangers of arrogance, a trait that has historically precipitated the downfall of individuals and nations alike. In the context of today’s geopolitics, as of February 28, 2025, the actions of the world’s top leaders often reflect this perilous pride, potentially steering humanity toward a catastrophic conflict—possibly World War III. Many scholars and believers see parallels between current events and end-times prophecies in the Bible, such as those in Ezekiel 38-39, Daniel 11, and Revelation, which describe a climactic global war preceding Christ’s return. This article examines two concrete examples of prideful actions by each of the top 20 world leaders (based on influence and power in early 2025) and explores how their hubris could be setting the stage for an apocalyptic showdown, supported by both biblical and non-biblical sources.
Pride and Its Biblical Significance
In the Bible, pride is a sin that blinds individuals to their limitations and God’s sovereignty. Proverbs 16:18 is echoed in stories like the fall of Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12-15) and the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:4-9), where arrogance led to divine judgment. In the end-times context, pride is a catalyst for the wars described in Matthew 24:6-7 ("wars and rumours of wars") and Revelation 6:4 (the red horse of war). Non-biblically, pride has been a recurring theme in historical collapses—think of Napoleon’s overconfidence at Waterloo or Hitler’s hubris in invading Russia. Today, as tensions rise globally, the pride of world leaders may be the spark igniting the "great tribulation" (Matthew 24:21).

The Precipice of World War III and End-Times Prophecy
These prideful acts align with biblical prophecies of end-times conflict. Ezekiel 38-39 describes a coalition led by "Gog of Magog" (often linked to Russia) attacking Israel, joined by nations like Persia (Iran). Putin’s alliance with Iran, seen in 2024 drone deals, mirrors this. Daniel 11:40-43 prophesies a "king of the North" clashing with a "king of the South," potentially involving Europe and Middle Eastern powers—reflected in NATO’s expansion and Saudi-Iran tensions. Revelation 16:12-16 speaks of Armageddon, where prideful nations gather for war, a scenario plausible as China, Russia, and the West flex their muscles.
Non-biblically, the Doomsday Clock stood at 90 seconds to midnight in 2025, per the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, citing nuclear risks and climate crises—exacerbated by leaders’ refusal to de-escalate. Prideful rhetoric, like Putin’s nuclear threats or Xi’s territorial claims, fuels a volatile cocktail that could ignite a global war.
Conclusion
"Pride goeth before destruction" is not just a proverb but a prophetic warning unfolding before our eyes. The hubris of today’s top 20 leaders—evident in their military bravado, economic arrogance, and diplomatic inflexibility—edges humanity toward World War III, a conflict that could fulfill biblical end-times scenarios. While secular analysts warn of escalation, believers see God’s hand in these events, urging us to "look up" (Luke 21:28) as redemption nears. Whether through faith or reason, the lesson is clear: humility, not pride, offers hope amidst the storm.

On October 11, 2024, these leaders convened in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, during a cultural forum, potentially echoing the foretold alliances of Gog of Magog before the great battle of Armageddon.
The Prophetic Context
Many scholars of eschatology refer to Ezekiel 38 and 39 in the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible when discussing the Gog of Magog prophecy. According to these scriptures, Gog is a leader from the land of Magog who will gather many nations against Israel in the end times. This alliance is often interpreted to include a coalition of nations from the north of Israel, a possible reference to Russia and its allies.
The "70th week of Daniel," described in Daniel 9:24-27, represents the final seven years leading up to the end of days. According to some interpretations, this period will begin following the Rapture, an event where believers are taken up to heaven. The world will then enter a time of unprecedented tribulation.
Recent Prophetic Fulfillments
The alignment of Russia and Iran with other nations suggests that Ezekiel’s prophecy could be unfolding before our eyes. This meeting on October 11, 2024, might be seen as a continuation of the growing bond between these nations, further solidifying the potential for a coalition that could play a significant role in the prophecy’s fulfillment.
The gathering of nations predicted by Ezekiel, preparing for what some believe will be the imminent battle of Armageddon, is perceived to be on the horizon. As current events unfold, the correlation between ancient prophecies and modern alliances becomes increasingly apparent.
Current Events and Prophetic Timelines
Recent world events further anchor these interpretations. For instance, significant escalations in the Middle East, the strengthening of alliances, and political maneuverings echo the prophetic narratives found in the Bible. The KJV often describes these alliances and wars as the precursor to the end times.
Many prophetic scholars point to the calendar of events, highlighting specific dates and alignments as fulfillments of these ancient texts. The October 2024 meeting is yet another marker on the prophetic timeline, bringing us closer to the anticipated Rapture and the subsequent seven years of tribulation.
Conclusion
As we watch these events unfold, the connection between current geopolitical movements and Biblical prophecies cannot be ignored. Insight and Intuition: End Times Signs and Current Events
Is a prophetic and ominous warning message being sent to #Israel, as today Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian? This meeting could indeed be seen as a significant signal, especially considering the historical and prophetic context. The potential for Russia to provide the Iranian regime with assistance in their nuclear program raises further concerns. Could Russia provide the Iranian regime help with their nefarious nuclear program? The possibility cannot be dismissed, given the strategic interests of both nations.
Will Iran speed up their nuclear development now that their protective “Ring of Fire” is collapsing? This is a critical question. With regional dynamics shifting, Iran might feel the urgency to accelerate its nuclear ambitions. The prophetic implications of a potential nuclear alliance between Russia and Iran are profound. Such an alliance could destabilize the region further and align with the end-time narratives described in Biblical prophecy.
In the Bible, Gog and Magog are mentioned in two distinct contexts—before the Millennium in Ezekiel 38-39 and after the Millennium in Revelation 20:7-10. These two events are often confused, but they refer to separate battles with different participants, motivations, and outcomes. Additionally, the Battle of Armageddon in Revelation 16:16, which takes place before the Millennium, adds another layer of complexity in end-times prophecy. By examining the pre-millennial and post-millennial Gog and Magog prophecies, along with Megiddo and Armageddon, we can clarify their distinct roles in God's redemptive plan, as revealed in the KJV Scriptures.
Below is a comparison table that highlights the key differences between the Pre-Millennial Gog and Magog (Ezekiel 38-39 and Revelation 16:16) and the Post-Millennial Gog and Magog (Revelation 20:7-10):
Comparison of Pre-Millennial and Post-Millennial Gog and Magog Conflicts (see chart below)
Context of Pre-Millennial Gog and Magog (Ezekiel 38-39) and Armageddon (Revelation 16:16)
Ezekiel 38-39: The Pre-Millennial Battle of Gog and Magog
The Gog and Magog conflict in Ezekiel 38-39 occurs in the "latter days" (Ezekiel 38:16) and describes a coalition of nations led by Gog, a ruler from the land of Magog, coming against Israel. This invasion happens when Israel is dwelling securely in their land. The nations are motivated by the desire to plunder the wealth of Israel, but God Himself intervenes with supernatural acts of judgment—earthquakes, hail, fire, and confusion among the invaders, leading to their utter destruction (Ezekiel 38:18-23).
This battle results in the magnification of God’s name among the nations and the restoration of Israel (Ezekiel 39:21-29). It is seen by many scholars as occurring either during or just before the Great Tribulation and may be linked with the Battle of Armageddon in Revelation 16:16.
Revelation 16:16: The Battle of Armageddon
The Battle of Armageddon takes place toward the end of the Great Tribulation and is described in Revelation 16:16. The Antichrist and his forces, influenced by demonic spirits, gather at Megiddo, a strategic location in northern Israel, to fight against Christ and His armies. This battle coincides with the Second Coming of Christ, where He will defeat the Antichrist, the false prophet, and their armies.
Megiddo (Har Megiddo) is symbolic of the climactic struggle between good and evil. It is here that the nations of the earth gather to oppose the Messiah, but their efforts are futile. Christ returns in glory, destroys His enemies, and establishes His millennial reign (Revelation 19:11-21).
Context of Post-Millennial Gog and Magog (Revelation 20:7-10)
After the 1,000-year reign of Christ on earth, Satan is released from his prison for a short time. He goes out to deceive the nations once more, gathering them for a final rebellion against God. This post-millennial conflict is also called Gog and Magog, though it differs significantly from the earlier battle in Ezekiel.
In Revelation 20:8, the Gog and Magog referenced here symbolizes the nations of the earth in rebellion against God. There is no specific mention of a leader named Gog, but rather it indicates a large-scale uprising from the "four corners of the earth."
The nations surround the camp of the saints and Jerusalem, but before any significant battle can take place, fire from heaven devours them (Revelation 20:9). Following this final defeat, Satan is cast into the lake of fire for eternal punishment (Revelation 20:10).
This event marks the end of all rebellion and the final judgment of Satan, leading to the Great White Throne Judgment and the creation of a new heaven and new earth (Revelation 20:11-15, 21:1).
Conclusion: Distinct Roles in God’s Plan
The Pre-Millennial and Post-Millennial battles of Gog and Magog serve distinct roles in God’s prophetic plan. The first battle in Ezekiel 38-39 foreshadows the Great Tribulation and the Battle of Armageddon, while the second in Revelation 20:7-10 marks the final rebellion after the Millennial Reign. Both conflicts reveal God's ultimate sovereignty, His protection of Israel, and the final judgment of evil. These two prophetic events, though similar in name, are distinct in their timing, participants, and outcomes, each playing a critical role in the unfolding of end-time prophecy.
