Still Life and Interior Paintings

Still life painting brings me great pleasure as a representational artist. When the lighting conditions are consistent, it grants me ample time to explore composition, forms, light, color, and arrangements. The essence of the genre lies in its name: still life. Unlike painting people, who obviously breathe and move, or landscapes outdoors where the light shifts constantly, still life allows me to work at my own pace, to zen out and delve into exploration under stable conditions. Often, I will see something particulary interesting and beautiful during breaks in my studio routine—compelling me to take my time arranging and painting it. Additionally, I use still life as an experimental ground for techniques, like my monochromatic orb series, each painted under varying conditions and with different techniques, solely for the joy of exploration.
