Major Works

My major works span from 1977 until now. They are a combination of innovative technical excellence and the concept of eudaemonia. Eudaemonia, a concept by Aristotle, is where one experiences moments of happiness as an end in itself. Out of millions of moments, I have tried to select the most significant ones to focus on. In real life, these moments only last for a moment, then the next barrage of haphazard moods and thoughts occurs. However, through art, I can capture and share these eudaemonia moments forever. A lifelong goal of mine was to blend the freshness of Impressionist light with Rembrandt's brilliance and the sensuality of the great Renaissance masters. The innovative aspect is that I managed to integrate the best in the world into my artistic voice.

Most of my works are life-size. The monochromatic paintings are intended as tonal poems, resembling elaborate charcoal drawings but executed with the permanence of oil paint.
