Our journey

Founded on September 28, 2022, under the original flag (shown below), Vanumia started as a modest and seemingly inconsequential micronation, with limited territorial claims and cultural identity. However, in the ensuing months, significant developments took place. The flag underwent a redesign, resulting in the version we recognize today. A national anthem was composed, and a unique currency was established, among other achievements. Following a short term as a monarchy, Vanumia became The Person's Socialist Republic of Vanumia, focused on maintaining the principles of socialism and egalitarianism.

A major turning point occurred on September 30, 2022, when the province of Zashtoa was established, almost doubling the nation's size. Much later, on May 21 of the same year, a crucial alliance was forged between Vanumia and the Kingdom of Virtuse, which remains the strongest and most steadfast alliance for Vanumia.

Further expansion occurred on June 19, when the province of Zorilgita was founded, becoming Vanumia's largest and most significant territory. These milestones marked a remarkable evolution for the once small and unassuming micronation, solidifying its presence on the international stage and shaping its unique identity. 

On July 20, 2023, a momentous occasion occurred as diplomatic ties were officially established with the Principality of Jacrona. Shortly after, on August 3, 2023, a diplomatic treaty was signed with the Kingdom of Salanda.

On September 3, 2023, the Socialist Republic underwent a dissolution and reemerged as "The New Kingdom of Vanumia," adopting a monarchist government with a strong emphasis on promoting equality. In the following week, on September 9, 2023, diplomatic relations were formed with the Socialist Republic of Groẞland, greatly improving Vanumia's outreach.

Subsequently, on September 10, 2023, the second division of Salaria was founded in close proximity to the Imelik province. The name chosen for the capital of this newly established division was "Vendria."

On September 30, 2023, the divisions of Jawiqut, Suuristan, and Šyhlahia were established, over quadrupling the total area of Vanumia. Shortly after, an alliance with the Republic of Nilux was established on October 7, 2023, proving worthwhile and beneficial. On the ninth of the same year, a diplomatic treaty was signed with the Redrock Socialist Union.

Quite possibly the most important and influential event occurred on October 10, 2023, when Vanumia signed to become a protectorate of the  Laskaridian Commonwealth Association, forming the strongest ties of any previous Vanumian alliance. Yet another alliance was formed on the 13 of October 2023, with the Oligarch State of Curnon. This led to a second official currency being developed known as the Axon.

On October 21, 2023, the four largest divisions, namely Greater Kirhaf, Kirhafia, Vazetica, and South Vazetica, were formally established. These divisions are situated within the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, entirely within international waters.

Many months later on April 1, 2024, the four ocean divisions of Greater Kirhaf, Kirhafia, Vazetica, and South Vazetica were disestablished, seeing as that they served little to no purpose.
