Scanning Safety
MRI scanning is very safe and there is no harmful radiation or x-ray technology involved. MRIs work by employing magnetic fields.
Before you enter the scanner, you will be asked a series of questions to ensure that you are safe to be scanned. Therefore, we need to make sure there is nothing on your person (or implanted after a surgery) that may be attracted to the magnet. If you have an implant that you think may be metal or magnetic, we will need to have the exact details of the implant from your doctor to check its MRI compatibility.
