Bill was a commercial journalist in radio & print before transitioning to association management where he has devoted 40 years to the promotion of sectoral interests, with a strong emphasis on renewable energies and action on climate change.  He has worked as senior staff officer and consultant for six national renewable energy associations, has written for the top renewable energy magazines in the UK and US, and has advocated for climate security on behalf of the UK government.  In 2013, he renovated his older home to become one of the top 20 energy-efficient retrofits in Canada (EGH 90), and his long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship was the basis for his selection as a torchbearer at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

David is a retired Information Technology veteran who worked in the Remote Sensing industry and saw from space the harm that has been done to Mother Earth by climate change. We need practical solutions that individuals can implement in their own lives that will make a real difference. By making the right decisions about heating and cooling in your home, you can make that difference. Quantification of the renewable energy produced & delivered by a heat pump would allow the technology to qualify for production tax incentives, clean energy credits, carbon offsets and other inducements provided to energy technologies which produce renewable energy and/or reduce carbon emissions. Counting every kWh is key to the future of electrification and for balancing claims of net zero in the buildings sector.
