Mategaon village is located in Kannad tehsil of Aurangabad district in Maharashtra, India. It is situated 30km away from sub-district headquarter Kannad (tehsildar office) and 55km away from district headquarter Aurangabad. Mategaon village is also a gram panchayat. We had site visit for about a week there. Through our observations we tried understanding different landforms, we also noticed few authentic mud houses with intricate wooden carvings. The whole population is dived into four parts, over 60% were Muslims, 35% Hindus, 5% other backward classes. It was pleasant site to look to see all of these communities living together in harmony, celebrating festivals together. The people are incredibly welcoming. Their main occupation is farming, over 60 % owns and work in the farm other 30% works as a laborer in the fields helping the farmers. Primary and Secondary education has been facilitated by the gram panchayat till grade 8th. We could find unique cultural items and differences in this village.
