Our team investigates emergent behavior in driven–dissipative systems, with a focus on thematic crossovers that bridge condensed matter physics, AMO science, and quantum information. We concentrate on open quantum systems where strong inter-particle correlations are essential for capturing dynamics and for shaping novel phases of matter which cannot be understood solely through single-particle physics or simple collective degrees of freedom.
While much of our attention is directed toward many-body quantum optics experiments and near-term quantum information applications, our conceptual and methodological perspective remains rooted in the traditions of condensed matter theory and non-equilibrium statistical mechanics.
Our activities are embedded in a vibrant network of collaborations, both local and international, spanning the USA, Switzerland, Spain, and Germany. In addition to that, we run a satellite team at the ICTP-SAIFR of São Paolo in Brazil. Check out the 'Quantum-SAIFR' webpage to find out more!
