About Our Team:

Regina Myers, Regional SAP Coordinator

In 2013 the Pennsylvania Department of Education identified areas in the state that may be under-served in supporting the Student Assistance Program (SAP). The leaders of the Intermediate Units in Northeastern Pennsylvania identified me to represent Region IV in this role. Region IV includes the counties of Lackawanna/Susquehanna, Luzerne/Wyoming, Monroe/Pike, Northampton, and Wayne counties. Additionally, I am the IU 19 contact for Bullying, School Climate, Equity, Safe Schools as well as Trauma Informed Education. Feel free to reach out to me anytime for support! rmyers@iu19.org

Franco Forgione, SAP Coordinator

I am a Pennsylvania State University Kinesiology graduate and a Wilkes University graduate where I earned a Master of Science in Educational Leadership. At the Northeastern Educational Intermediate Unit I taught Health and Physical Education while coordinating the annual Special Olympics. Currently I am a Student Assistance Program (SAP) Coordinator. In this role I support Lackawanna County schools arrange drug and alcohol and mental health programming while facilitating training and consultation for district SAP teams. Additionally, I serve on the Pennsylvania Student Assistance of Professionals (PASAP) board of directors. Contact info: fforgione@iu19.org

Mission Statement

We believe that when a caring individual recognizes and supports a student's difficulties it engages the spirit and opens their eyes to opportunities. We built this resource to equip school leaders with up to date resources so they can support K-12 students overcome obstacles and attain success in school.

This website will support administrators, teachers, SAP team members, and liaisons by providing resources and materials which have been evaluated for content and appropriateness by NEIU Specialists.
