Yądowayiste:kise means “I love you” in the Yesá:sahį language, expressing a deep sense of connection and care. This reflective worksheet uses therapeutic prompts to support self-awareness, emotional well-being, and cultural affirmation. Participants are guided to explore personal strengths, values, and experiences that shape their identity. They are also invited to honor the influence of ancestors, elders, or community members, and to reflect on meaningful relationships with non-human relatives such as pets, plants, or natural elements like water (mani). These exercises encourage a holistic sense of belonging and connection to self, others, and the natural world.

This worksheet is designed for Afro-descended individuals with ancestral ties to the African continent. As someone of Afro-descent, I created this resource to support healing and empowerment in the face of ongoing anti-Black racism, colorism, featurism, and texturism that many of us continue to experience. It encourages self-love and affirmation through the celebration of our natural features, especially in a world where accurate and affirming representation is often limited or distorted.
