Amy Young currently teaches at Berlin Elementary School in Berlin, VT. She is certified School Library Media Specialist and Educational Technology Integrationist. She received her Bachelor's of Education from the University of Vermont and her Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction in Educational Technology from Plymouth State University. She is passionate about equity in education and beyond as well as improving environmental practices. Amy is a member of the school Equity committee and is always working to improve the library collection to represent all students with diverse and inclusive resources.
When she is not teaching she enjoys spending time with friends and family. Amy balances work life by spending time reading, gardening, hiking, kayaking, sewing and crocheting.

As an academic interventionist and family engagement coordinator, Sara Medalen gives students the hope and tools they need to overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams. She is the founder and leader of Girl Power, an after school club, designed to promote gender equality and empower girls. Sara is a 31-year teaching veteran and was named the 2020 North Dakota Teacher of the Year and the 2021 Horace Mann Award for Teaching Excellence. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education and deaf education and a Master of Science degree in special education.
Outside of teaching, Sara loves spending time with family and friends, running, reading, and traveling. She is the founder of Hello Sunshine Ice Cream & Books, a nonprofit that spreads the joy of literacy throughout her community by giving out free ice cream and books. During the summer, she can be found in her ice cream & book truck in parks and neighborhoods spreading the love of literacy one child, one book, and one ice cream treat at a time.

Janis McCalister is an accomplished educator with over 28 years of certified teaching experience, designing and teaching professional development courses, preschool and early childhood practicum courses, common assessment training and designing, field experiences and trainings, leadership internship, coaching teachers and leadership opportunities in various schools and organizations. Currently, she serves as the Gifted Resource Lead Teacher and Growing Readers Candidate. Previously, she served as a General Education Teacher, Academic Coach, and Instructional Site Facilitator. Lastly, she taught gifted endorsement courses for teachers seeking certification.
Moreover, while on-the-job experiences have afforded her a well-rounded skill set, including first-rate communication and problem-solving skills, she excels at:
Writing action plans.
Increasing student motivation.
Presenting and training teachers and leaders at school, state, national/international conferences and conventions.
Assisting teachers in designing appropriate and effective lesson plans/instruction.
