C Mannequin, a smart connected product

C Mannequin is a smart connected mannequin NDoLab has developed as prototype products. Using C Mannequin, NDoLab is trying to find a way to implement a smart connected product using affordable but cutting-edge IT technologies to small groups of armature engineers. There are two types of C Mannequins which adapt affordable IT technologies including cloud AI services and on-device AI.

C Mannequin V1

It is based on cloud AI services, a vision camera and an approximate sensor and a database server. It depends computing powers to estimate gender types and ages of  approaching customers using a cloud AI service for face detection. It uses a Raspberry-pi small computer with its camera module to run Node-RED program that manages capturing images of customers, send the image to cloud AI services and get returned classifications and save the result to the remote database server.

C Mannequin V2

C Mannequin V2 based on V1 will adapt the on-device AI instead of the cloud AI service. To install the on-device AI functions, It will replaces the Raspberry-pi small computer of V1 with a WiFi enabled micro processing unit (MPU), an ESP32, with an AI camera. It also integrate the existing approximate sensor function to the image processing software running on the ESP32. NDoLab hopes C Mannguin V2 shows the advantages of new type of MPU for development of affordable smart connected products.
