The used uniform sale cannot run without volunteers. There are two types of volunteers: students (who gain volunteer hours and employable skills) and adults (parents/guardians of current students who wish to be more involved at the school).
Student volunteers can include
student inventory preparers who review each just arrived used uniform piece to
determine if it needs cleaning or mending
tag each item in order to identify the item for bookkeeping purposes
sort by size, colour, style
organize the items such that the morning of the sale is organized
says hello to the first buyer in line before taking the items they wish to purchase
remove the tags and fill in the sales slip
place the tags in the sold envelope
place the purchased items into a bag before handing it to the buyer after the
cash has been received and change provided or
the credit/debit card has cleared
thank the buyer for coming to the sale
student sale helpers who may
take down names and numbers for contact tracing
straighten remaining inventory
answer questions from buyers politely
Help replenish items for the cash teams
the Used Uniform Coordinator, who manages every aspect of the sale including
all the bookkeeping and admin work to sort out how much was earned and who was owed
adult cashiers who manage
the cash or the square reader at sales
the student helping at cash to process the sale
